Flo Schell, EdM, Welcomes You To

A SPACE FOR ACTIVE WISDOM

a place for emerging humans

Flo Schell
Hello to you!

The past several years have found me growing and learning; learning and growing.

The learning came at a time when I was feeling betwixt and between.

The growing caught up with the learning after much reflection and deep internal work.

The result?

A new set of offerings for you.

Let me tell you more!

The onset of our country's recession caused enormous changes in most everyone's life.

It offered individuals and small business owners the chance to look within themselves.

To see if what they had been doing still worked for them.
Or if there was a course correction that needed to be taken.

To that end, I sought out new mentors. Learned new and inspiring ideas.
Took training sessions. Did my own deep thinking. Created a course for my community.

And wrote a book for women in my own age group.

Special women.

Women who are ready to be Wise Ones in the world.

My Intention?

For women everywhere to take a journey through their own lives
to discover what they are meant to be and do NOW.

To get past any fears of change and find the allies they need to support them along the way.

The result is my newest book

Wisdom of the 8 Bowls
a modern myth for women at mid-life and beyond

This four-color book is 40 pages in length. It combines my own photography with lyrical text.

It tells the tale of how a life can be brightened again.

No matter where you are right now.

I am indebted to special teachers for the learning I accrued.

Jean Houston: Her teachings and writings on so many topics have heightened my life immeasurably.

Mary Catherine Bateson: Her book, Composing a Further Life, provided a new and empowered way to look at the aging process.

 What Is Active Wisdom?

The phrase was coined by Mary Catherine Bateson.

She tells us that this phrase describes how we can be in the stage of life that falls roughly between the years of 55 and 70.

She tells us that this is not a time of getting old; it is a time of active engagement.

These years, she says, provide a time to reflect on what you have already done
knowing that it is not too late to do something more or different.

We are, she says, our most talented and skilled at this stage of life and
hopefully wiser than ever before.

What then, she asks, will we do with this wisdom?

If you are curious to create conversation about this question please contact me.

There is a whole new world outside our window just waiting to be explored.
